About Marius Mitroi

Marius Mitroi is the Co-founder of Thinkstitute, a business development company strongly orientated towards innovation. At Thinkstitute we aim to understand the dynamics of the Romanian entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem and to support talented entrepreneurs and startups to build high-impact ventures. In this context, the company benefits from the robust experiences of its team and provides a broad set of services from technical and management consultancy to research studies and evaluations of innovation policies.

Marius is also the co-founder & CEO of RISE. Rise is your guardian angel while riding a motorcycle. RISE is an embedded crash detection/safety IoT device that sends real-time critical information about your location and medical profile in case of need. Using advanced technologies RISE also acts as a smart alarm and track your performance while riding.

Based on a 7 years’ experience in coordination of the Innovation Programme at UEFISCDI (Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding), Marius has designed, developed and implemented funding programmes for research and innovation, based on European best practices and instruments. He was involved in developing new support policies for innovation and funding instruments (e.g. Innovation Vouchers, developing new products-systems-technologies, developing innovation and technological transfer infrastructure, support services for innovation, European cooperation programmes as EUREKA-EUROSTARS).

He coordinates projects in areas as entrepreneurship, protecting IPR and clusters, funded by programmes like South-East Europe, EEA Grants, INTERREG IVC, FP7 and H2020 (e.g. SEE-IFA Network, ECOEMERGE, FINNO, KT Force, VIBE, CLOUD, SEE Technology, EVLIA, eDIGIREGION, INNOVOUCHER). Also, Marius is Co-Director at Founder Institute Bucharest, the world’s premier idea-stage accelerator and startup launch program with chapters across 110 cities and 60 countries.
